Your host family will be eager to welcome you into their home. British host families come from a variety of regions and backgrounds and are rigorously screened. Great Britain will, thanks to your host family, soon feel like home.
Living with your host family
As an exchange student in England, Wales or Scotland, your main job will be studying and going to school. However, as a member of the household, you should help out when possible by doing things like keeping your room tidy and setting the table, just like you probably already do at home.
Host families in England, Scotland and Wales
All EF host families in Great Britain receive a small stipend to host an exchange student. Many families have children your age; others have younger children, adult children or no children at all. Some of the EF host families live in smaller communities. This gives you the opportunity to immerse yourself in the culture, easily get to know people and become part of the community.

Living with your host family and studying as an exchange student in England, Wales or Scotland will make you more fluent in English.
