Our families come from different regions and have different backgrounds, so there is no “typical” family. All are host families are screened, and all are excited to welcome you into their home and show you the best Japan has to offer.
Authentic Japanese culture
When you live with a Japanese host family, you get to experience authentic Japanese culture. You will eat family meals with your host family and participate in celebrations and holidays together with them. Your host family will introduce you to its customs and help you adapt to the very interesting and special Japanese culture.
Living with a Japanese host family
During your exchange year in Japan you will get to know what it is like to live in a Japanese household and you will notice how compact many homes are. You should remember to help out around the house sometimes, by doing things like keeping your own room tidy. Above all, getting to know your host family will be a rewarding experience.
